Linux, Ubuntu, 9.10

I am using the Linux Ubuntu version 9.10 operating system. I am waiting for the latest version 10.04 which should be here shortly. They send me two or three updates per week, so it is not the same system I first installed. I have the original copies of the disks if anyone would like.

"Happiness is the companion of cheerfulness,
not the creature of circumstances."

There are 42 sections in the OS and they remain that way, however many items have been deleted and replaced by many others. Some items have simply been added. I would be willing to copy the OS on disk for anyone that would be interested in trying it.

It is all open source, free, gratis, no charge. Though they allow you to donate ten dollars for the disk to be mailed to you. The first number is the year. the second number is the month and it usually comes out in April (04) and October (10) So I expect version 10.04 in a few days.

I am using the system right now, on these very pages and no Microsoft and no Apple. There is a certain freedom in not having to rely on such a huge powerful monopolies, specially when all they want is money. So anybody out there that is interested, I am willing to help, probably the younger folks.

"Quiereme Mucho" By Los Copacabanas
Here's another popular bolero from the 1950s that's bound to bring back memories (to those who were around), this time sung by Mexico's Los Copacabanas

The older people have always been conservative, somewhat against change. They younger people have always gone overboard on change. So they go back and forth until they get older then settle down to what they like.

The under thirty crowd has always said, "Beware of the over thirty" So that is a good division line for us in Universal dancing. Probably better over forty but let's not be too prejudiced. God knows we have a very large amount of potential dancers in the over 40 bracket for Universal dancing.

"It is our choices -- that show what we truly are,
far more than our abilities."
