HBDA Participates in Hawaii State Election for It's Building Fundraiser

Judy Gold, Hawaii State Precinct Official, thanks individual HBDA members.

HBDA became the largest non profit group in history this year to work in the Hawaii State Election according to Judy Gold, Precinct Operations Official.

Chairperson Shirley Ota, a persistent and organized leader, recruited dance members to work one of the following functional roles: delivering collections, facility official, control center operators, precinct official, voter official, or chairperson. Some worked for both Primary and General Election days, and they contributed their pay to HBDA's existing Building Fund. Judy Gold was also present to thank the group in person.

According to Shirley, HBDA t-shirts worn by the poll workers were visibly noticed by those who came in to vote as well as the camaraderie they exhibited.

On Saturday, November 14, a celebratory potluck dinner was held for all workers and contributors at Aliamanu Middle School. Chairperson Ota thanked everyone for a very successful fundraising drive; she also gave out specially designed HBDA car decals to every attendee.

Jack Legal followed with the progress of the Building Fund and possible locations and specifications where the building may possibly be located.
