Thanksgiving Day

No news of dancing today which sounds all right for it should be a day of thanks and in the company of your loved ones.

“Thanksgiving comes to us out of the prehistoric dimness, universal
to all ages and all faiths. At whatever straws we must grasp,
there is always a time for gratitude and new beginnings.”

The Pilgrims sure thought up a good one and at the time they were very religious. There is no official Thanksgiving Day in Latin America. Though there are various days in which different sectors "Thank" their patron saints.

And Latins-Americans celebrate "El Dia De Gracias" just as well as anyone in the US. For the rest of us in the dance community, we can certainly thank the many people that try to do their best for the entire group. There are so many that help people and places where it will not benefit them personally.

“Some people are more talented than others. Some are more educationally privileged than others. But we all have the capacity to be great. Greatness comes with recognizing that your potential is limited only by how you choose, how you use your freedom, how resolute you are — in short, by your attitude. And we are all free to choose our attitude.

Dance today is clearly in an unsettled state. Old forms and traditions are being given up. New ones are arising to take their place. A time of change presents a confused picture. That there is change is proof that dance is organically vital—and much more so than it has ever before been in this country."
Margaret H’Doubler

"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough."
