Happy New Year !!

We hope everyone had a safe and fun Holiday Season.

Another year has come and gone. As we get older, the years seem to fly by. Time is relentless - it never stops. And, when you get to a certain age (as many of us know), each year brings a little new reminder that you’re not as young as you used to be.
BUT, getting old doesn’t have to be a bad thing. I received an email that said: “Today, you are the oldest you have ever been and the youngest you will ever be, so enjoy this day while it lasts”. I thought that was worthy of passing on to you. The email also contained the following for us “older folks”:

Observations On Growing Older:
~Your Kids are becoming you...and you don't like them...but your grandchildren are Perfect!
~Going Out is good.. Coming Home is better!
~You Forget names ..... But it's OK, because other people forgot they Even knew you!!!
~You realize you're never going to be really good at anything .... Especially Golf.
~The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore.
~You sleep better on a lounge chair with the TV blaring than in bed. It's Called "pre-sleep".
~You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" Switch..
~You tend to use more 4 letter words ... "what?"..."when?"... ???
~Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere.
~You notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"?!!!
~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.
~Everybody Whispers.
~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet .....2 of which you will never wear again.
~But Old is good in some things: Old songs, Old movies, and best of all, OLD FRIENDS!!
Here’s to You, "OLD FRIEND!" Send this on to other "Old Friends!" and let them laugh in AGREEMENT!!! It's Not What You Gather, But What You Scatter That Tells What Kind Of Life You Have Lived!

So, here’s to Old Friends . . . and New Friends!! May you All have a Wonderful New Year!!

With the new year, we have news of events and happenings from USA Dance, Honolulu, President Glenn Okazaki. An email blast went out to all USA Dance members but he wanted the information passed on to non-members as well - because everyone is welcome. So, we’ll just post his mailings below - for your info.

In addition to their Monthly Dances, Saturday classes and workshops, and Tuesday evening practice times (every Tuesday evening for all of January), USA Dance, Honolulu also has ballroom dance classes for the young ones on Saturday mornings. So, it looks like USA Dance, Honolulu, has been busy planning for 2012.

Many of you know Debra and I. We're members of USA Dance (and on the Board). But, we're also members of almost
all of the other Ballroom dance clubs in Honolulu. We're at the Palladium almost every weekend. We'd love to share news, information, pictures, reports, etc., from all of you out there. So, if you have something you'd like to share with the community through our Blogs, pleeeeeeeease share it with us. We will post it for you. We won't post our email addresses for obvious reasons. But, if you see us at the Palladium, come talk to us. We'll be glad to exchange email addresses and get your info posted for you. Or, if you'd like to become a guest author and post your own blogs on Town Dancer, that can be arranged too.

Again, we hope you have a Wonderful New Year and hope to see you on the dance floor soon.

With Aloha,
Calvin & Debra
