Kinda sparse happenings dance wise last weekend. Hung at First Friday downtown for a bit. Sarah's daughter Shana Squier had a showing of her art at Soho. She is a very talented artist and starting to make a name for herself.
If people watching is your thing then next 1st Friday stroll downtown. Whew! So much energy and things to see and do. This country boy got his fix in no time.

Would have hung longer but wanted to move to "Nuvo" at the Cupola at their regular 1st Friday gig. 7:30-10:30 PM. Great music is the norm. The band is tight and Jules energy is contagious. Always amazed at the dynamo packed into that tiny lithe frame.
Never heard Nuvo? Next month 1st Friday. 3/2/12, 7:30-10:30 PM at the Design Center Cupola is a good time.

On the menu for this week:
Tomorrow, Tuesday. The Spin Dr. AKA Professor Bob & Candy will be performing 6-9 PM at the Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 46 aka "Fleet Lounge" at 891 Valkenburgh St., 808-423-0873.
Last month the turnout was very good with an even mix of Leads and Follows. A nice no pressure opportunity to dance socially w/an aloha group of dancers, lots of space, pupus provided (donation jar) and drinks are crazy cheap.
Thursday is Wasabi at the Saint Louis Alumni Hall 7-10 PM....'nuff said!!!!
Condolences to Steven Sakaue (Keyboard for Wasabi) on the loss of his wife Lonnie last Saturday.
Saint Louis Alumni Hall= 916 Coolidge Street Honolulu: is the address for the clubhouse.
Actually the Dance Hall is located across from Honolulu stadium park on Isenberg St. next to the First Hawaiian Bank on the corner. In the same building as "Da Kitchen" fronting Isenberg. St. Louis Alumni Hall, Bar & Cafe. Food/pupus from Maui ’s own “Da Kitchen”, and FREE parking in their lot which is usually full.
There is also free parking available at First Hawaiian Bank next door, (where I park) but you'll need to get a (free) parking ticket from the St. Louis Alumni staff collecting the $5 admission to put into the "park box" for the corresponding stall number.
Friday 7-11:30 PM @ Dots Kapena, Mel Fausto, Funky Stuff and Island Flava promoter Mule Nation. $10 advanced $15 @ the Door.
Saturday Dots has a Valentine's Dance 6-10 PM featuring Shining Star, Persuasion and Kaos. $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
Hope you have a great week of groovin' and movin',
R
